Why friends don't let friends knit stoned:

Exhibit one: cast on four stitches, knit, pickup four stitches for total of 8, increase every other round until have 32 stitches on needles. Behold a toddler's mitten

Exhibit two: cast on TEN stitches, knit, pick up TEN stitches for a total of 20, increase every other round until have 72 stitches on needles. Behold a Man's size large sock

Seriously, I need a cage and a keeper.

Hee! Oh, darling. You definitely need that icon. *hugs you tight*
I sat there with the first attempt on two of my fingers wondering how the fuck that was going to fit on any adult foot. Then I re-read my notes and realized what I'd done.

The smaller amount of stitches works well if I'm using heavy yarn and larger needles. That's how I made hunting socks for hubby. Tiny needles + thin yarn means I should not be knitting on nyquil. LMAO
They look like Harry's panties. lol

So...what do you charge for sweaters? I might have to scrounge up some change.
I'm charging the gentleman $40 for one pair of socks. I'm not sure what to charge for a sweater.
It would depend on the yarn you wanted me to use, the pattern and what drugs I'm on that quarter of the year. I'm thinking it would take me close to three months to do a nice sweater. Mostly because it took me six months to design and make Ali's witch hat. (I got a bit perfectionistic on that one)
That dove gray there is really nice. I was thinking like a V-neck. Probably a bit oversized, so I could shove the sleeves up and wear something under it.

Hmm...this might get 'spensive. lol
the dove grey is Tove. It runs about $5 a ball and has around 160m of yarn per ball. The label is in Icelandic, so I'm having to guess at the total quantity.

I want to make this. I need to work up the nerve to make something that nice for me.

oversized would be a "boyfriend sweater". I may have a pattern. Let me look at my library and scan something in for you to check out. I can post it later this week.
Oh, that's yummy!!!

I haven't crocheted in years. I never learned to knit.

5 dollars a ball?? I have been out of the loop! No pun intended. lol
good quality yarns start out around $5 and go up from there. Some of the sock yarns from Europe sell for $20 a ball. Those are expensive socks.

Knitting is easy. If illiterate children could knit to help out their families in the past, modern folks that are literate can knit. It's a matter of being willing to do the work.
Bet I can find you a shop in your area with classes.
I'm always amazed at the work that those who know how to knit can do. It's wonderful!
thanks. :D

one of my friends has been teasing me, wanting to know if I was knitting panties. LOL
That's what it looked like to me too. *giggles*
I'm going to knit a pair of knickers once I get the holiday presents and commissions out of the way. :p
