I received a card today from venturous! Very lovely Snarry art on the card. The hubby was amused by the squid waving at Severus and Harry. fledermaushund was fascinated by the way the card smelled. I guess she could tell Seneca and Lily sent their greetings too. :D

I have a tree up and partially decorated. Pic spam tomorrow.

I went to the dress up party on Tuesday and survived. Now, this was not a formal party, it was more one where the dress code was executive casual.

I did a bit of shopping before hand, and got an email saying the dress I ordered before Thanksgiving was on back order. This meant I got to shop for me while everyone and his dog was out doing their holiday shopping.

vl_redreign, I found two nice sweater patterns I need to chat with you about. I may be able to make that cardigan you want after the new year.

Wednesday we got hit with not one but two low pressure systems hanging over the midwest. This meant I ached. I wanted to stay in bed, take prescription pain relievers and sleep it off.

unexpected guest

My mother and brother are avid photographers. They both stood at the back door watching while this bird strutted around the yard. Brother eventually picks up the camera and says: "The viewfinder is empty".
*head/desk* Yup, dingdong didn't take the lense cap off. By the time Mr. Sg got out our el-cheapo camera and got near a window, the bird was done laughing it's ass off at the humans and began to fly away. To add insult to this episode, he curved close to the house, out over the maximum part of the yard then flew out of sight.

1) I'm grateful for my family, friends, and pets. (hugs f-list)
2) I am glad to be able to help prepare a big meal for family tomorrow.
3) I'm grateful to the stock people at the store who work for corporations and not the grocery chain that were smiling, happy and helped the short person reach things.
4) I am glad to be able to pay most of my bills on time.
5) I'm grateful to have one of the girls home for this holiday, even if she does leave the house lights on at all hours.

So, what are you all grateful for this week?

Last week, I mentioned how the maternal unit's doc likes to spin the wheel and come up with scary shit to pay off his condo had diagnosed Mom as having major scary illnesses. This has happened each holiday season for the last three years.

Recently, some kind soul who I am sure meant well emailed me a link to a medical article. This was the type of thing written in highly detailed language and will hopefully in the future either be refuted or be dumbed down so the lay person can understand it better.
The way I interpreted it (remember, I put sexy in dyslexic) was that fibro is related to multiple scro - M.S.
I tried to read this thing in a brighter light. Couldn't manage it. Now, I am wanting to send a reply email to the alarmist jerk person who thought they were being nice.

fledermaushund had updated her journal. She's feeling contemplative. I think she's decided she wants to help a family out instead of receiving presents for Jule this year.

cleaning continues. we have a few throw rugs left to wash. the sofa was steam cleaned today. I may finally sit down to my submission for severusbigbang It's been ignored while I dealt with life.

Humor helps me cope. After alisanne's lolcats post the other day, I decided to pull up the macros that have been done of my crew over the last few years. Much silliness ahead I hope you enjoy the fur kids.

I really do need to have a security camera system installed so I can catch the insanity that is living with pets on film. I have other shots that need to be macro'd and will post them before too long.

omgwtfbbq? can anyone explain how I had both wasps and hornets swarming on the back of my house this afternoon? I think there were a few honey bees in there. Honestly, they were pinging off the window at one point which really was freaky to listen to.

Wandered off to start up with direct sales and have been playing around taking learning modules every day.
Thus, I missed elfflame's birthday. Sorry about that, Sweetie. I think I may have a bit of sweet Snupin around here for you, give me a day or so to polish it up.

Things I've learned:
1) sell up by pointing out when a line is being discontinued even if only for the winter months.
2) have contact info on catalogs I hand out.
3) have post-it on catalog cover to take down customer's info and contact them in two days with follow up call.
4) make sure catalogs are always with you and visible.
5) get potential client contact info. I can't do a follow up call without it. *face/palm*

made two sales this week. granted they were for less than twenty dollars, but I sold some stuff.

Wrote a crappy fic for the bbtp_challenge and will be doing massive edits on it. Sorry eeyore9990 for this embarrassing attempt at a birthday fic. My migraine is gone and things are quieter around here, so the fic is getting re-done over the weekend. the new and improved version should be up sometime next week.

oh, I applied for a job and was accepted. supervisor has fibro and is understanding about needing time to see doctors and having bad days.

I hate, hate, hate my layout! None of them make my happy and how does one remove repeated tags from their list? such a dorky technotard

hubby is still home with bronchitis. he's responding well to the antibiotics and I'm very glad he can telecommute to work and not lose his job for taking this much sick time. partly, this is hr's fault because they are paranoid about a flu pandemic and don't want him on campus until he is non-infectious. Hello? bronchitis doesn't = flu.

This week's discoveries:

1. getting kitty jack sparrow declawed improved his attitude.
a. it also means no more injuries on other pets
b. I no am longer covered in claw marks

2. having hubby home with bronchial illness does not equal writing
a. my muse hates rock music
b. being wigged out = emo fics.

3. large hairy caterpillars in the yard are not swallowtails
a. need to take a photo of them
b. hope someone can tell me what they are, besides wickedly cool looking

We got hit with storms today. I'm fine. In our family tradition, the house needs repaired. This happens every time Hubby goes to Pennsic. On some levels, I hate this event. :p
